Something Blue cannot accept a booking enquiry/reservation by any persons under the age of 18. Your personal details will only be used by Something Blue in connection with the hiring service displaying on this website. We will not supply your details to other third parties unconnected with Something Blue and will not send you further information unless it is requested. The law requires all website owners to advise when a website uses cookies to store information on your computer to ensure you are happy with this, therefore by using our site you are deemed to have accepted the terms of our privacy policy. Some cookies on this site are essential and the site will not work as expected without them, these cookies are set when you submit a form, login or interact with the site by doing something that goes beyond clicking on simple links. You agree to indemnify and hold Something Blue, a trading name of J2Sussex Ltd and its Directors and Employees harmless from and against all liabilities, legal fees, damages, losses, costs and other expenses in relation to any claims or actions brought against Something Blue arising out of any breach by you of these terms and conditions of this website. Something Blue endeavours to make this website available on a continuous basis but it cannot warrant that it will be available 24 hours a day or that it will be free from errors or viruses or other harmful components.

 

These terms & conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.  Something Blue is a trading name of J2Sussex Ltd, (Company Registration No: 11145624; Registered Office: Second Floor, 3 Liverpool Gardens, Worthing, BN11 1TF).

 

‘You, Your, The Client, Clients, The Hirer, The Hirers’ Refer to the person/s making the booking, and/or those actually using the service/s advertised, and/or those viewing this website.

 

‘Something Blue, We, Us, Our’ refers to Something Blue, which is a trading name of J2Sussex Ltd, (Company Registration No: 11145624; Registered Office: Second Floor, 3 Liverpool Gardens, Worthing, BN11 1TF) its Directors and/or Employees.

 

Terms & Conditions of Hire of Something Blue (a trading name of J2Sussex Ltd)

  1. A booking will be considered to be confirmed with Something Blue once both the deposit has been paid and booking form has been signed and received. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the quoted price will secure the car on the agreed date. The signed booking form is required at the time of any deposit being paid.

  2. All fees charged by Something Blue will have VAT applied at the current rate (20% at time of writing). Something Blue, a trading name of J2Sussex Ltd, has a VAT number of 309 4099 93.

  3. A written confirmation of the journeys quoted for will be sent by email as a receipt of any deposit or booking. The outstanding balance is required to be paid no later than 30 days before the wedding day or civil ceremony.

  4. Any cancellations must be made in writing to Something Blue at the email address jcooper@j2sussex.com All cancellations will incur a charge. The minimum is the deposit of 50% of the quoted price. Should the Hirer cancel within 30 days of the agreed wedding/ceremony date, then the outstanding balance is still due in full. We will immediately re advertise the date but in the event that we do not secure another booking for the car(s) all monies are still due. If we get a booking all the money paid will be refunded, minus the deposit.

  5. In the event that the Hirer changes the date of a confirmed booking 31 or more days days from the original agreed wedding date/ceremony we will transfer the booking to the new date subject to availability. However, if the new date is unavailable the Hirer will forfeit the deposit.

  6. In the event that the Hirer changes the date of a confirmed booking within 30 days of the original agreed wedding date/ceremony, and the new date required is unavailable; then the full amount of the original hire will still be due in full.

  7. Whilst every effort is made to provide the car booked Something Blue reserves the right to substitute cars in the event of mechanical failure or other circumstances beyond our control. Cars of a lesser hire charge will entitle the Hirer to a refund of the difference. Where a car of a higher hire charge is substituted no extra will be charged to the Hirer. In the very rare event a mechanical failure/breakdown takes place on route to the ceremony, every possible effort will be made by Something Blue to secure alternative transport. In the extremely unlikely event of a delay leading to a missed ceremony, a full refund will be offered, including deposit. If there is a mechanical issue/breakdown following the ceremony that prevents any member of the bridal party reaching the reception then a refund will be offered dependent on the proportion of the journey that has been missed and taking into account the loss of any photographic images lost due to be taken at the reception venue. The refund offered will be dependent on which members of the bridal party are affected. Something Blue advises that full wedding insurance is taken to cover such an eventuality.

  8. All our cars will be immaculately presented; our chauffeurs will wear Something Blue standard dress. The chauffeurs will politely decline any offer of alcoholic drinks whilst working. The cars will be decorated appropriately for your wedding/ceremony. Special requests can be considered, an additional cost may be incurred.

  9. We understand the complexities of the day and timings involved and our chauffeurs are likely to arrive earlier than the specified arrival time in your confirmation letter. May we ask politely that the Hirer ensures that all passengers will be ready for departure at the agreed specified departure time. Please note that the cars will only carry the maximum number of passengers they are insured to carry. In all cases of existing cars, this is 4 persons, including the driver; except Blue which is able to carry 5 persons.

  10. Something Blue cannot be held responsible if the wedding/ceremony is completely missed due to the time keeping of the wedding/ceremony party or guests.

  11. We have quoted a price on the information provided at the time of booking and have calculated the time required for your wedding or civil ceremony. We have been generous in our estimates, however; in the rare event that a significant amount of extra time be required an additional charge may be made proportionate to the original booking quote. Should the wedding or civil ceremony significantly over run for a reason outside your control no extra charge will be made.

  12. Something Blue will select the route(s) required based on local knowledge and/or satellite navigation. The drivers will use their judgement driving at a lawful, safe and sensible speed in relation to the road and weather conditions.

  13. Whilst every effort will be made to arrive at scheduled locations in good time, no responsibility can be taken for unforeseen road closures or for restrictions relating to car access to any location or unforeseen physical delays on route to the ceremony or adverse weather conditions. We cannot be held responsible for late arrival or cancellation due to any other circumstances beyond our control. Something Blue strongly recommend that you are covered by adequate wedding insurance.

  14. The Hirer is responsible for any accidental or intentional damage caused to the car(s) by themselves and/or their wedding guests. A minimum charge of £100 will be charged to cover the valet costs should damage be caused by any passenger through drink, food or illness.

  15. We advise that smoking is prohibited and eating and drinking is restricted in all cars, save for refreshments served specifically by Something Blue and detailed on the Booking Form. We cannot be held responsible for any adverse medical reaction or allergy to anything consumed whilst in the cars, or subsequently later or any injury or loss caused through excess consumption of alcohol.  All items left in the cars are at the owners own risk and no responsibility will be taken for their loss or damage. Every effort will be made by our drivers to reunite any property found to the members of the Hirer’s party.

  16. The law requires all passengers to wear seat belts where made available – this differs based on car age. Should a passenger under the age of 4 be required to be transported it is the Hirers responsibility to provide appropriate car seat(s). Something Blue are happy to transfer small children between 4 and 12 years old, but only when an appropriate child seat has been fitted by a parent or guardian. Our drivers will not be responsible for the fitting the child seats.   17. All passengers are requested to make sure that all belongings are with them before vacating the car(s). Valuables should not be left in the car(s) during the ceremony. Every effort is made to ensure against damage to or loss of property of the Hirer or any member of the wedding party when either stationary or travelling in our cars.

  18. Something Blue may take photographs for their own promotional use, they may appear on our social media sites and website and by signing these conditions the Hirer has given Something Blue permission to do so, we will own and retain copyright of any image taken but will happily share with anyone seeking a copy.

  19. Weather Related Safety – In event of very severe weather causing hazardous driving conditions for example snow, thick fog, ice or flood should Something Blue consider driver and passenger safety could be put at risk reserve the right to either cancel the booking or if available replace the car booked to one better equipped to cope with such extreme driving conditions, it is solely Something Blue and/or the chauffeur who will make this decision, and will base their decision from handling experience of the particular car/s booked and weather/road condition reports from the media and/or motoring organisations and will advise the client at the earliest opportunity of the situation.

  20. Severe Weather Cancellation – although cancellation is very rare and would only be considered in extreme conditions, passenger safety being paramount, Something Blue advises all clients to have their own back up travel plans in place especially if their wedding is taking place over the traditional winter period in case of last minute weather related problems preventing their hired car from carrying out its booked itinerary. If the car hired is a classic or vintage car this may become more applicable at any time of the year as their lighting, signalling equipment, windscreen wipers, braking systems and general road handling is entirely different from today’s modern cars equipped with the safety aspects of ABS and other modern electrical and computerised workings.

  21. Phone Contact with Drivers – UK law states hand held mobile phones are illegal to use when driving, even hands free could be distracting, therefore should a client wish to make urgent contact with their chauffeur on the day the client must understand their chauffeur will not answer the phone if driving, but will respond to messages left after they have stopped and it is safe and legal to do so.

  22. Night Time Driving – Wedding Ribbons on cars can be distracting to the driver and although they are used during daytime wedding engagements in daylight they can cause visibility problems obstructing the view of the road when driving after dark, for this reason we are unable guarantee they will be on cars after dark, passenger safety being paramount plus the Police would take a dim view in event of an accident. Therefore, regardless if a client has requested ribbons, the driver alone will make the decision whether to drive their car with ribbons across the windscreen during darkness hours taking into consideration safety and the route to be used.

  23. You agree to indemnify and hold Something Blue, a trading name of J2Sussex Ltd and its Directors and Employees harmless from and against all liabilities, legal fees, damages, losses, costs and other expenses in relation to any claims or actions brought against Something Blue arising out of any breach by you of these terms and conditions.

  24. Liability Outside of Direct Control – Something Blue, a trading name of J2Sussex Ltd, and its Directors and Employees will not be held liable or responsible for situations caused by circumstances outside of their control resulting in late arrivals at collection addresses, ceremonies or receptions, delays or cancellations to ceremonies or receptions, missed appointments, missed photographic opportunities, missed travel connections, delays by utilising one car on multiple trips to the same destination, clients not departing the collection address at the stated time, traffic congestion, incorrectly advised timings, car breakdowns, punctures or other circumstances beyond their control not listed above.

  25. We reserve the right to amend our Terms & Conditions at any time. Only the agreed terms at the time of signing are applicable.

  26. By signing and returning your booking form you will have deemed to have agreed and accepted the above terms and conditions. Thank you for booking with Something Blue, we enjoy our work and look forward to seeing you and your families on your special day.
